Lamb & Lion Inn awarded Four Star Inn Status by the AA

The Lamb & Lion Inn has been given four stars by the AA after an in-depth assessment of the premises which are located near York Minster in the heart of the medieval city. Owners Chris and Emma Watkins said they were delighted by the accreditation.

Golden Mane IPA a huge hit at the Lamb

"Specially brewed and only available at the Lamb & Lion Inn York". That's the message put out by owner Chris Watkins this weekend as sales of Golden Mane the India Pale Ale that is specially brewed for his Inn outstripped all other real ales on offer at the York tavern. "Golden Mane has been really well received by our customers", said Chris. The Inn is building up quite a stable of its own brews with a new "Gentle Ale" called Lambkin coming soon to join Golden Mane, and the Lamb & Lion Inn's very own Hattersley Stout.

New Menus and a Dinner Award! Emma the owner is thrilled

Lamb & Lion Inn owner Emma Watkins said she was very pleased to hear the news that the AA had given her Inn a Dinner Award. "Our food philosophy is very straight-forward. It's good simple cooking, using fresh local ingredients". With good pub dishes such as Haddock & Chips, Bangers & Mash and Lamb Chops the Inn also does its very own crusty bread bowls filled with soups and stews.
